Meetings with the Wild Camel Foundation Trust established by John Hare have established a good working relationship with the HEF Foundation.  A conference on the Wild Bactrian Camel was attended in September 2000 in China and it is also hoped joint veterinary projects will get under way in the near future.  The patron of the Wild Camel Trust, Jane Goodall already has her ‘Roots and Shoots’ education program well established in China.  It may be possible for HEF to help in some small way when it comes to developing the sanctuary conservation awareness programs using camel characters as a focus.  The “Harry” books are in the process of being translated into Mandarin Chinese.
